The Silent Danger: Gum Diseases

Gum diseases (periodontal diseases) are inflammations of the soft tissues and bone surrounding the teeth. More than 70% of tooth loss in adults is caused by gum diseases, not cavities. These diseases, which usually progress insidiously and do not cause pain at first, cause teeth to loosen and fall out if left untreated. In our Periodontology clinic, we strengthen the foundation of your teeth by restoring your gums to health.

Stages and Symptoms of the Disease

  • Gingivitis (Initial): Bleeding, redness, and swelling in the gums. Bleeding during brushing is usually the first sign.
  • Periodontitis (Advanced): The stage where the infection reaches the bone. Gum recession, opening of spaces between teeth, bad breath, and loosening of teeth are observed.
Healthy gums are pale pink, wrap the tooth tightly, and do not bleed when brushing. Bleeding is a "cry for help" your body gives you.

Laser-Assisted Gum Treatment

In our clinic, in addition to mechanical cleaning such as tartar cleaning and root planing (curettage), laser technology is used to accelerate healing and eliminate bacteria. In advanced cases, regeneration of the melting jawbone can be achieved using bone grafts and membranes. In addition, in gum recessions, root surfaces are covered with aesthetic surgical interventions, eliminating sensitivity and correcting the aesthetic appearance.
